Description: Here we go again! It’s a neck-and-neck race in the polls and who knows who will be elected President in November 2024. How would the results of this election affect U.S. immigration options for international students and scholars? This panel will explore the possible impacts on U.S. immigration such as changes to D/S for F-1s and J-1s; the definition of H-1B specialty occupation; the future of DACA and Advance Parole; RFE madness; Muslim bans; and other administrative red tape. Join us and learn how to strategize and advocate for students and scholars regardless of who is in the White House.
Learning Objectives:
Strategize how to help international students and scholars protect their U.S. immigration status during times of changing administrations.
Identify ways that we can support international students and other immigrants (particularly those of color) in an environment where immigrants and immigrant communities are unwelcome or ostracized.
Be confident that we (and our students) can make it through another change in administration.
