Presentation Description:

Join presenters from four different university contexts in exploring how they are working to build or rebuild a sense of community and belonging for the international students at their institutions. This will be an interactive session, beginning with the development of shared meaning behind the words "community" and "belonging", moving through some examples of programming designed to support these concepts, and finishing with small group discussions workshopping how to bring these ideas back to your own campuses/programs.

Learning Objectives:

Define the words “belonging” and “community” as they relate to your own educational contexts
Explore examples from other institutions and share best practices that have been successful.
Evaluate the usefulness of your current programming/activities and identify new ideas to pilot.
